14 Days Nairobi | Sweetwaters | L.Nakuru | Lake Naivasha and Maasai Mara Safari

Day 1: Nairobi- Samburu National Reserve
Depart Nairobi  and drive by road to the dramatic semi-arid scrub land of the Northern Frontier. Arrival in Samburu will be by lunch time. After lunch embark on a game drive to sight resident wildlife species like the Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy's Zebra, Beisa Oryx and the Blue-necked Somali Ostrich that are rare elsewhere in the country. Dinner and overnight will be at the spectacular lodge or tented camp.

 

Day 2: Full Day in Samburu National Reserve
A  full day in Samburu National Reserve with extensive early morning and evening game drives.
Meals and overnight will be at your lodge/tented camp.

 

Day 3: Samburu National Reserve - Aberdares National Park
Depart Samburu after breakfast to Aberdares National park arrive for Lunch at the base hotel before being transferred to the Tree hotel for overnight stay.

 

A special feature of the lodge where we stay is the floodlit watering hole where we can watch from the lodge itself throughout the night as a great variety of animals come down to drink.
 

Day 4 : Aberdares National Park  to Lake Nakuru National Park
Depart from your Tree Lodge after breakfast and drive to the base hotel to meet with your guide and proceed south to Lake Nakuru National Park often referred to as the pink lake for it's great masses of pink flamingos. Lunch at the Lodge then proceed for an extensivech afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park
Dinner and overnight stay at a Lodge inside the park.



Day 5:  Lake Nakuru National Park - Maasai Mara Game Reserve
We have Breakfast then proceed with a game viewing drive as we exit the park and drive to via the Great Rift Valley to arrive at Maasai Mara in time for lunch at a Lodge. Intruductory evening game drive is planned after lunch. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.

Day 6 and 7: Full Day Maasai Mara Game Reserve
Enjoy two full days exploring the park in search of the big 5. Have an early morning and late afternoon game drives. or alternatively, Full day game drives with picnic lunch in the Mara.
Dinner and overnight stay at a lodge.


Day 8:  Masai Mara Game Reserve -  Lake Naivasha National Park
After breakfast we descend down towards the Great Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha arriving in time for lunch at our lodge accommodation located at located along the shores of Lake Naivasha.
After lunch, you will spend the rest of the afternoon  at  leisure.  with optional opportunity for a boat ride or a Nature walk to the famous Crescent Island, or simply relaxing by the swimming pool. Dinner and overnight at the Club/ lodge

Day 9: Lake Naivasha National Park - Amboseli National Park

Depart after breakfast and drive past the scenic Athi Plains and into the bushy country of Amboseli National Park - a landscape dominated by the spectacular snowcaps of Mount Kilimanjaro. We arrive at the Lodge for lunch. After take a few hours of rest, before embarking on an introductory evening game drive at the foot of Africa's highest mountain.
Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge.

Day 10: Full Day  Amboseli National Park
Spend  full day in Amboseli National Park with early morning and evening game drives. Enjoy Amboseli with wonderful backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Meals and overnight will be at your lodge.


Day 11:  Amboseli National Park - Tsavo West National Park
After an early breakfast we depart for Tsavo West National Park which lies roughly half way between Nairobi and the Coast. Mzima Springs, the chief marvel here is a favorite haunt of hippos and crocodiles. We Arrive at the lodge for lunch. before we proceed for an early evening game drive to see large herds of elephants, buffalo, common waterbuck, eland, rhino and a wide variety of antelope. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 12: Tsavo West National Park - Tsavo East National Park
We depart the lodge soon after breakfast and proceed to Tsavo East National park. Game is viewed as we exit the park . This park was famed for its large herds of elephant covered in red dust and fine scenery. We visit the scenic Lugards Falls, Mudanda Rocks (attracts elephants in the drier season) and Aruba Dam as we view game if time permits.

Day 13 : Full day Tsavo East National Park
Full day game drive spent exploring the park with morning and afternoon game drives . Dinner and overnight stay at a Lodge. The landscape in Tsavo East is flatter and drier, despite having one of Kenya?s largest rivers flowing through the middle. Much of the wildlife is concentrated on the Galana River, which has plenty of Crocodiles and hippos. Likewise, Kudus, waterbucks and dik-diks are common along the river banks.

Day 14: Depart Tsavo East National Park - Nairobi or drop off at Mombasa Beach
After a leisurely breakfast, we drive back to Nairobi or Mombasa Beach for an extension Beach Holiday

14 Days Kisumu | Rusinga |Maasai Mara | Lake Naivasha | Amboseli | Tsavo National Park and Mombasa Beach

Day 1: Kisumu – Rusinga Island | Mbita Point
Depart Kisumu by road, driving East on Kisumu- Bondo Road through  Seme – location, Kit – Mikayi sub-location, Kangeso village, Kadol clan. To enjoy the views of dramatic archaeological site, a vast granite rock tower called Kit Mikayi as we drive further to Lwanda K’ Otieno for an onward transfer by ferry to Mbita Town - Rusinga Island. Rusinga is an austerely pretty Island with high crags dominating the desolate goat-grazed landscape. Ecologically, the Island is in very dire straits: almost all its trees have been cut down for cooking fuel or been converted into lucrative charcoal. The Island is where archeologists Dr. Mary and Louis Leakey found the skull of Proconsul Africanus which is believed to be approximately 18 million years old and was man's earliest ancestor and was taken to the National Museum of Kenya in Nairobi where you can view it when time allows and at an extra cost. It is also believed that this is one of the first important hominid finds of these two famous archeologists. There is also Tom Mboya’s mausoleum which lies on family land at Kamasengere on the north side of the island, about 7km by the dirt road from Mbita, or roughly 5km directly across the island. The mausoleum (open most days to visitors) contains various mementos and gifts Mboya received during his life. Tom Mboya, civil rights champion, trade unionist and charismatic young Luo politician who was gunned down in Nairobi in 1969, sparking off a crisis that led to over forty deaths in widespread rioting and demonstrations.

Day 2: Rusinga Full Day
Early breakfast then depart for fishing using traditional built up boats with your picnic lunch. In the afternoon, you will be driven past the cause way to Rusinga Island with a visit to Tom Mboya Mausoleum. Trek to Ligongo Hills for a panoramic view of the Kavirondo Gulf before you drive back to the cottages for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 3: Mbita – Takawiri - Mfangano – Mbita
After breakfast, with your picnic lunch, ewe take traditional boat ride past the two smallest Islands of Lake Victoria to reach the beautiful Island of Takawiri with very white sands. You will get to know how they survive and live with the traditional fishing style. We ride further to Mfangano Island where we have the geometric rock paintings at Mawanga cave and Kwitone in the Island. It is believed that the rock art pre-dates the migration of both Nilotes and Bantus and is thought to be the work of ancestral Twa, a forager-hunter people who may have been originally related to the pygmies of Eastern Congo.The paintings are thought to have been made between 1000 and 4000yrs ago and may have been used for rain making purposes.
After disembarking, we will have 5 minutes walk from the boat to Mawanga. Although they were painted as part of a vanished mythology, the cave, the paintings and the surrounding area retain powers in the traditions of the Abasuba. The Wasamo clans, who lived around the cave, were the rain makers of the Abasuba, and the elders agree that the paintings have been used for rain making ceremonies, with the red paintings representing the moon and the white ones representing the sun. After getting to learn the wonders of the two rock, we ride back to Mbita, picnic lunch en-route,

Note: You can donate towards the upkeep of Abasuba community peace Museum in Mfangano to continue with their good work of maintaining the rock arts.

 

Day 4: Mbita | Rusinga Island – Maasai Mara Game Reserve

Depart from Mbita-Rusinga Island after early morning breakfast through Kisii and  Lolgorian towns with picnic lunch en-route to arrive Mara in the afternoon for an extensive game run crossing through Mara River to our accommodation on the Eastern part of the Mara.

Day 5: Maasai Mara Game Reserve
A full day is spent game viewing across the rich tree studded grasslands and rolling hills. The famous Mara is re-known for its great herds of plains game, Black Manned Lions, Leopards, Cheetahs, and annual migration of Wildebeests and Zebras.

Day 6:  Masai Mara Game Reserve -  Lake Naivasha National Park

Day 8: Full Day  Amboseli National Park

Spend  full day in Amboseli National Park with early morning and evening game drives. Enjoy Amboseli with wonderful backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro.Meals and overnight will be at your lodge.

 

Day 9:  Amboseli National Park - Tsavo West National Park

After an early breakfast we depart for Tsavo West National Park which lies roughly half way between Nairobi and the Coast. Day 11: Depart Tsavo East National Park - Mombasa Beach
Morning game drive after breakfast for  further exploration of this great Park, a good time to see plenty because the sun is not hot. The birds of different kinds can be seen at this time and if you are not a bird lover, the water buck, gazelles, impalas and many animals can also be spotted.
Return to the Lodge for early lunch then depart for Mombasa to arrive in the evening for a drop off at the Beach hotel booked on Half Board for a 3 nights Beach Holiday.

 

Day 12 & 13: Mombasa Beach
You will spend the two full days by the Beach at Leisure with Optional water sport activities organised by the Beach Hotels.

Day 14: Mombasa - Nairobi.
Deapart Mombasa Hotel after breakfast for a transfer by a private transport to Nairobi arriving in the evening to connect your onward flight back home to end your Adventure Safari.
Alternatively we can book a flight from Mombasa to Nairobi to cennect your onward flight back home.
